Inés Bueso-Inchausti has recently joined BAMBBI as a PhD student to work on on the characterization of bacteria-surface interactions of nanostructured materials.

A good representation of the BAMBBI Team attended last week Xartec Salut's annual HealthTech2030 event, held in Nau Bostik (Barcelona, Spain) on Nov. 8th, 2023.

Prof. Maria-Pau Ginebra attended a recognition ceremony for researchers awarded with an ERC Grant, an event organised by the Ministry of Science and Innovation. Previous to the ceremony, ERCEA offered a workshop on ERC Grants management.

Dr. Anna Díez-Escudero, Dr. Montserrat Español and Prof. Maria-Pau Ginebra have just published the review "High-aspect-ratio nanostructured hydroxyapatite: towards new functionalities for a classical material", an Open Access paper which is part of the themed collection: 2023 Chemical Science Perspective & Review Collection.

The Biomaterials, Biomechanics and Tissue Engineering (BBT) research group has celebrated its VII Annual Meeting. As part of the group, BAMBBI's team attended the event in full.

Shana Jin has recently joined BAMBBI as a PhD student to work on the functionalization of calcium phosphate nano-topographies with antibacterial peptides.

Prof. Maria-Pau Ginebra is currently visiting the Uppsala University Hospital, invited by Prof. Nils Hailer. During her visit, she has offered two talks and networked with several colleagues.

Marc Iglesias, PhD student working on the project, is currently on an internship at the Biofilm Research Group of the School of Pharmacy (Queen's university of Belfast, UK), under the supervision of Prof. Brendan Gilmore.

PhD student Carla Arca, co-directed by Prof. Maria-Pau Ginebra and Dr. María Godoy-Gallardo, wins the Student Speech Contest of the LIX Congreso Nacional de la Sociedad Española de Cerámica y Vidrio (SECV 2024), held in Zaragoza from June 11th to 14th, 2024.
