3D Bioprinting: Are we close to personalised medicine?

Prof. Maria-Pau Ginebra offered a talk on CaixaForum Madrid around the topic "3D Bioprinting: Are we close to personalised medicine?", as part of the series "The revolution of 3D-Printing".

BAMBBI's PI, Prof. Maria-Pau Ginebra, offered a talk on CaixaForum Madrid around the topic "3D Bioprinting: Are we close to personalised medicine?", as part of the series "The revolution of 3D-Printing".

The talk, which took place in Madrid on the 17th of April, 2023, was focused in explaining how to apply and exploit additive manufacturing for medicine, how this technique helps our health and what personalized medicine will be like in the not too distant future.

While reflecting on the question on wether or not healthy living tissue can be created to replace diseased human tissue, Prof. Ginebra explained how science is exploring a possible solution for this conundrum: bioprinting, a technological tool based on the printing of structures with living cells of great importance for tissue and organ engineering.

Prof. Ginebra has offered similar talks before, since the series have been on tour for a while: Barcelona (October, 2020), Zaragoza (March, 2022), Sevilla (June, 2022), Girona (November, 2022) and Madrid (April, 2023).
